The Eisenhower Dolores Hope Auxiliary Gift Shop not only raises funds to support Eisenhower programs and services but also raises spirits among patients, visitors, and hospital employees. Hospital employees are the shop’s most frequent customers!
Newly designed and built by the Auxiliary in 2021, the beautifully appointed shop in the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Pavilion carries a surprisingly plentiful array of merchandise in its 180 square feet. This includes greeting cards, giftable items such as stuffed animals, shawls, robes and slippers, reading glasses, sundries, jewelry, perfume, balloons and flowers (which can be delivered to a patient’s room), and sweet and savory treats.
Operated by the Auxiliary, the gift shop is 90 percent staffed by volunteers. The shop’s hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Net proceeds from the gift shop—which average more than $60,000 annually—support various Eisenhower initiatives including the Auxiliary nursing scholarship program.
